Rubi is every riders dream pony, She has done it all, competed in Dressage achieving 71% and 1st place at SANESA Nationals, Show jumping, Eventing, Performance riding, and working riding. Jackie has the patience not many horses have, she is a 1st pony, has taught many kids to trot,canter and jump. Jackie is a registred SA Boerperd from the Calista Stud.

Milkshake is little gem, worth her weight in gold! She is a little 13hh pony that jumps literally anything you put infront of her, cross country jumps, water, 80cm oxers, but can also teach a 4 year old her first canter. She is bold, bombproof, and everything a child can dream of.

Ikoon is a breathtaking black mare with floating movement, exceptionally well schooled, competed in graded showing and new to the eventing scene. She is a firecracker to jump and loves working. She is registered SA Boerperd from the Calista Stud standing 14.2hh
Thoroughbred
Grin is a lovely confidence giver for a nervous rider, he also happily jumps courses of 1.10m and he is very bold in the country with a massive jump. Grin loves to please his rider and give all he has got and will easily take you up the grades. Grin is standing 16.2hh

Samantha Ferreira is the founder and owner of Ferreira Equestrian Centre and Ferrero Warmblood stud, having been riding most of her life, she is also the only qualified instructor in Harrismith. Samantha is also the Free State Eventing President.
Stable manager/Show groom
Bukani is our stable manager, show groom, Boerperd inhand and ridden trainer and rider with extensive equine knowledge. Bukani makes it his job to get to know every horse at the yard, what they like, dislike, their general behaviour, just to name a few.
Groom
Ronald is our hard working groom with the biggest smile, ensuring all the horses, stables and yard are clean at all times, assisting with lunging, tacking up, leading kids, and all other yard duties.
Work rider/groom
Washington assists in daily yard duties and schooling up of horses and ponies. Washington has extensive experience in the show jumping field, and we can't wait to get his horses in the show ring.
Possibly the most important aspect of a lesson is a qualified coach. FEC has the only qualified coach in Harrismith. In South Africa you are required to have a suitable qualification and registered as a coach with SAEF in order to coach in any equine field.
Each lesson horse has the correct bit suited to each one and a well fitting saddle and girth. If we are unsure of a saddle, we get it fitted by a qualified saddle fitter.
Each lesson horse has its hooves trimmed every 6 weeks and our shod horses get new shoes every 6 weeks.
All of our lesson horses are fed a well balanced diet, ensuring they receive optimum nutrition. If we are uncertain on a specific horses diet, we get our Equifeeds rep to advise. They also get top quality hay at night, planted and baled by us.
All our horses are on a routine deworming program to ensure they are free of internal and external parasites.
All of our lesson horses have up to date vaccines to ensure they have optimum immunity against diseases, all vaccinated by a qualified vet.
All of our horses see an equine dentist regularly and if we suspect any dental problem, we contact our dentist immediately.
Any lesson horses with a problem is treated by an equine Chiro/physio as well as follows a rehab program designed by her with infrared light and exercises.
Every assistant in a lesson is a knowledgeable horseman that knows each horse individually and put the horses needs first.
